Bing and MSN united to provide video service

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Video is becoming an increasingly popular way for businesses to communicate with potential customers with more and more businesses creating videos that feature marketing messages. This development is taking place alongside the increasing popularity of online videos for entertainment and social purposes too. YouTube currently dominates the world of video with millions of internet users regularly visiting the website in order to view different videos for a wide range of purposes. However, Bing and MSN have now come together to form Bing Videos.

Bing Videos is an exciting new video portal that uses the content from MSN videos and the search technology from the Bing search engine. In the past, MSN Videos has featured videos with a wide and varied range of content and videos from a selection of different sources. It has been stated that this will remain the case with even more opportunity for others to contribute videos to this service. Fox Sports, MSNBC and National Geographic have all had their videos feature in MSN Videos previously and will continue to play a role in Bing Videos too. It is believed that videos from other sources such as MySpace, Hulu and YouTube will also be included in Bing Videos, meaning that Bing Videos will be able to offer users a diverse selection of interesting video content.

The videos within Bing Videos are to be separated into different categories to make it easier for users to identify videos of interest and to search quickly and easily when using the Bing video service. Categories used will be based on subject content of videos, most popular videos, most recently added videos and other categories like this that will likely be of use for video searchers.

While it is unlikely that Bing Videos will be a major competitor for YouTube due to the extreme popularity and reliability of YouTube, it will likely be a popular choice for many internet users and will be a productive service due to the Bing technology used in Bing Videos. Bing and MSN have joined forces in order to provide users with another quick and easy ways to locate videos of interest and use and Bing Videos will likely be successful in the future.

Videos can play an important role in a search engine optimisation campaign because of the entertaining and personal way it is possible for those involved in a business to inform potential customers about their company and what they can offer them. A video can be an effective marketing tool and it is likely that this method of internet marketing is going to increase in popularity further and that websites like Bing Videos will be successful because of this development.

Videos can be extremely useful in search engine optimisation and we can help you to create effective videos that will help your business to prosper in these competitive times.

Updates to Bing Maps

Sunday, January 10th, 2010

Local search plays a significant role in search engine optimisation and so it can be beneficial for a business to list their website with local map services like those provided by Google and Bing. By registering with Bing Maps, it is possible to greatly increase the amount of targeted traffic that visits your website. Due to the popularity and value of these websites, relevant listings will be ranked highly in the search results when a relevant local search is carried out. Listing your business with map services is often fairly simple and free and so it is extremely advantageous to spend a little bit of time submitting your details.

Bing Maps has recently undergone some significant changes and developments and Microsoft is hoping that the service provided by Bing Maps is going to be much improved because of these alterations. Draggable routes have been added, changes to the zoom bar made, embedding of maps made possible and changes have been made in navigation too.

The draggable routes feature is one significant change to the Bing Maps service. This feature enables users of Bing Maps to change the routes generated quickly and easily. Often, once the necessary details have been entered and a suggested route displayed, users may be unhappy with a certain part of the route and may want to make a small alteration without having to start the search again. This draggable route feature allows them to simply drag the route from where has been suggested to where the user would prefer and so the preferred route is displayed. Microsoft has stated that this will be a major advantage for its users because many have previously suggested this type of feature and now Bing Maps can deliver.

The changes to the zoom function on Bing Maps are also set to make searching and assessing a route using the website easier. It will enable users to choose a specific level of zoom for their map and route rather than making users move in and out one different zoom level at a time.

Another significant development from Bing Maps is that it is now easier for users to embed maps into the pages of their websites or blogs so that these maps will be displayed for visitors. This can be an extremely effective way of providing visitors with useful information.

Bing Maps has also implemented changes that will make it easier for users to navigate their way around the site and to search for what they are looking more efficiently.

It is hoped that all of these changes and developments will help to make the Bing Maps service even more productive and popular than it already is. If users are satisfied with the service it provides, the number of users will increase and it will make it even more beneficial for businesses to have listings with Bing Maps.
