Google is constantly updating what it can offer its users by providing them with new and exciting features. Once again Google has been rolling out some changes which highlight that it is continuously striving to offer its users what they want and in the best possible way too. Google is currently the most popular search engine in the world and wants this to continue to be the case. Google has dominance in the environment of search and through the use and development of its technology in so many areas of the service it provides, this is unlikely to change in the near future.

Many of the search engines are currently concerned with real-time search results and this is a major priority for Google too. Google now offers real-time search results through the use of posts in blogs, social networking websites and news. This information can be displayed by choosing the ‘Latest Results’ option when search results are displayed.

‘What’s nearby is another new feature added to the Google service. This enables users to find local businesses located near to them and this feature will be developed further in the near future. Once again, this development from Google is to encourage businesses to register with the Local Business Centre as this can benefit their business in many ways.

Google Trends now also features a Hot Topics section which displays the most searched for topics on Google at that time. This kind of information can be of interest to internet users and also useful for businesses who are looking for appropriate ways to market their websites effectively.

Google Goggles has also been launched and this provides users with an exciting new option. Google Goggles enables Google users to take photographs of items, places and anything that they may have an interest in and then use these to carry out a search without them actually having to type into the search box what they are looking for. This tool is still in development and not yet working to its full capability, but by using it and providing feedback; you can help Google to make this tool even better.

Japanese is another language to have been added to the Search By Voice service offered by Google. The service already operates in English and Mandarin and can now also operate in Japanese too.

All of these updates demonstrate the determination and commitment of Google to provide its users with the best service in as many areas as possible. This highlights once again the importance of Google and why it is such an influential player in search.

Online businesses that want to be successful must optimise their websites appropriately for Google so that they can be ranked highly in the search results provided by the search engine and have the opportunity to access and communicate with the vast audience Google has.

At SEO Consult, we can help you to identify and use the most suitable SEO techniques for your business that will improve your rankings within the Google search results and increase the amount of traffic to your site too.
