You want your website structure and navigation to be to your target audience.
You want them to have an excellent experience and be eager to return. Yes, SEO is about links, page tweaking, the algorithms and all the other bits and pieces that go into website SEO.
Successful optimization means collaboration between the entrepreneur and the SEO consultant. It is not only about technical aspects. It is about two individuals. They must work together to create the internal foundation that will permit the optimisation success to take place.
Listen with an open mind
Both consultant and entrepreneur must listen to what the other is saying. Both will have ideas; some viable and some will not work out. Website integrity must be upheld at all time, but within that framework there is scope for many new ideas, innovation and compromise.
You, the client know your industry and product and your consultant knows his job. The most important thing is for both sides to listen with an open mind. To interact, be open to change and let the knowledge of both mesh for successful SEO.
Big enough to admit mistakes
Nobody likes to admit that he made a mistake or had the idea or information totally wrong. Everyone makes mistakes; you the entrepreneur makes mistakes and so will your SEO consultant; it is called being human. Very often ideas look great on paper, but when implementing them, they turn into mini disasters.
If your ideas do not work, admit it and ask your consultant to try something else. This count for the optimiser as well as its far better to say he was wrong, get the solution and fix the problem. This is called working together to achieve success.
Never act in haste
This counts for both businessman and consultant. No website is the same and optimisers must adapt accordingly. The adaptation comes from the detailed knowledge the client has of his own business. The client must be able to think things through when the SEO makes suggestions.
A successful SEO campaign means work for both parties; sitting down and observing each implementation. Only once both parties agree should they act on the solution. The working relationship between SEO and client must be based on interaction at all times.
