White Hat SEO is the process of designing and writing the content on a website in such a way that it will be understood, filed and indexed by a search engine in a way that will give you a good ranking. It also falls within all the rules and regulations of different search engines, making sure that the website will not need to change regularly.

White Hat SEO is a term used in the IT profession to describe a good and clean (thus white) way of search engine optimization. It is a long term solution that basically creates content for users and not for search engines. Meaning, that if a user does a search for something specific and follows a link to it, the content that appeared in the link will also be on the page, it will be readable and informative and of use to the reader.

True is always best

Organic SEO is very similar to White Hat SEO and is a clean way to do search engine optimization. It is probably SEO in its most pure form. It is called organic because it is compared to the way that an organism develops, forming its own natural life on websites as opposed to a synthetic development which could be short lived and might result in penalties. Organic SEO could be described as a website designed around good content and not based on technical loopholes to add maximum search engine optimization.

Reaching for dakness

Black Hat SEO on the other hand is a technical process used mainly to create good rankings on the search engines. It is important to note at this stage that black hat SEO is not illegal in any way, but most of the big search engines will have regulations against it, and will easily ban a website from its search engine if caught.

This kind of SEO might be suitable if you have a product that you need to move within a very quick timeframe, as you might have to change your website address once the search engines realize what you are doing. Black hat SEO use various different ways to manipulate the algorithms of search engines including invisible text, irrelevant keywords, hidden text and links, keyword stuffing and duplicate tagging.

A big No No

Keyword stuffing is in itself an interesting topic, as it can be used effectively if the keywords are used appropriately and in an effective and informative way.. The keywords are the words that the search engines will recognise and use to identify your products and services. It all depends on how it is used. Black hat SEO will abuse this by writing menus, titles, articles, web content and news and feature pages on websites with keyword stuffing. This often leads to text that is almost unreadable and of no use to a consumer.

A White hat SEO will know the advantages of using keywords in an appropriate manner that will in effect be text written for a consumer and not for a search engine. Search engine optimization purists will tell you that keyword stuffing gives a website an unfair advantage and will surely lead to a site either being banned or penalized by a search engine.
