However, it can be even more productive for your company if you are able to get others with popular, respectable and relevant blogs to also link to your website. Links are a vital part of search engine optimisation and links from blogs to a website can be extremely useful.

If a blog features information and content that is relevant to your business, then it could be beneficial to have a link from a blog like this to your website. However, due to the number of blog users and businesses that are looking to increase the amount of traffic to their websites, bloggers often get approached and asked to include a link to a business. With so much choice, it is important to approach these bloggers appropriately if you want them to offer you assistance.

If you visit a blog and would like to add a link to it, it can be advantageous to first contact the blogger about something other than the link. Asking them something about their blog, sharing information and displaying a genuine interest on the topic covered in the blog can all help you establish a relationship with the blogger. When this happens, they will be more likely to accept your request to add a link.

Once you feel the blogger may be interested in the opinions and information you share about the topic, it is then time to see if they would be willing to add a link. Try to keep this part of the process simple. Outline the reasons why you think their blog is suitable for a link to your website and how this link could be beneficial for the readers of the blog. Make the post quick and easy to read by dividing it into sections. Once you have done this and sent it to the blogger, it is then necessary to wait for their response.

If a blogger has not responded to your email in four or five business days then it is likely they are not interested in your proposition. If this is the case, it is acceptable to email them again for information but the number of emails sent in this instance should be limited and carefully written. If the owner of a blog is not interested, keep trying until you find a blogger that is interested in what you have to offer.
