Getting others within the blogging community to be interested in your blog and to make comments on it as much as possible is an important part of making a blog a useful part of an SEO campaign. Many online businesses are using blogs as part of their SEO campaigns and know the significance of getting others to contribute. There are a few techniques that some businesses are using to help them to be more successful at doing this.
Readers of blogs are often interested in the subject matter as they have chosen to read the blog and will have thoughts and opinions on what has been written. However, they may not feel comfortable enough to share this information with others. They may also not know where to start when leaving a comment on a blog and how they should write what it is they want to say. It is your responsibility as the blog writer to make them feel comfortable enough to contribute and to direct them with what sort of comments they should be making. Keep the tone of your blog friendly and informal to put readers at ease and get them to comment by asking them specific questions related to the topic. If you ask a question, readers will be more likely to give you an answer.
It is important to keep your blog relevant to your business but explore the subject and offer different and alternative posts. If your posts are repetitive and dull then readers are not going to keep returning and are not going to want to comment on your blog either. Try to write about alternative perspectives and issues that others may not regularly consider and attract attention and interest in this way. Even if there is something you don’t agree with, explore the subject in your blog and you are bound to get others involved in the discussion too.
Whilst it is important that you demonstrate yourself as an authority on your business subject through your blog and provide information that shows that you are an expert that is knowledgeable and experienced in your field, it can be useful to ask for the assistance of others from time to time on issues that are not directly related to your business. It is often the case that blog readers like to offer their help when possible. If you can encourage this by asking for help on certain matters that are not specifically about your business then this can be useful in developing a relationship with your readers and in turn may result in them leaving more comments on your blog.
