The provision of fresh content makes up a significant part of most sites’ ongoing SEO maintenance. When it comes to your on-page search engine optimisation, fresh content will represent the majority of your work after initial optimisation.

‘Whew!’ we hear you say. ‘Is that all?’ Well, of course it’s not all. Search engine optimisation maintenance involves a few other things, but even so, fresh content isn’t an easy thing. Providing quality content on a regular basis to web pages is an enormous task, and one that leads many companies down nasty paths. Talking to an SEO expert can help when you’re uncertain about what sort of content to place on your site, and you can discuss this with our consultants at SEO Consult Australia. If you’re going to provide content of your own, it’s important to be aware of what is needed.

There are three things that are absolutely essential when it comes to quality content for your search engine optimisation plan.

1. Inspiration

Site owners can quickly run out of inspiration when they have to provide one or two fresh pieces of content every day. A lot of sites end up looking a little sad and tired, which puts users off. It’s vital to keep your ideas fresh.

If there’s one thing about the net, it’s full of information. Internet users are used to accessing all sorts of information whenever they want. This is both good news and bad news. It means that your content will be competing against a lot of crap, which is good news, but also that you’ll be competing against a lot of good information. Uninspired content will be immediately obvious, and won’t be as valuable to your site.

2. Perspiration

Huge numbers of sites feature slap-dash content. Those are the same sites that have a bit of trouble keeping traffic coming to their pages. Good content takes a fair bit of hard work, and it’s not something to be skimped on.

Hard work doesn’t necessarily mean time. A lot of site owners panic about content because their busy schedules just can’t afford the extra work. Your site’s content will benefit from thorough planning, which will also save you time when it comes to writing. Plotting out articles well in advance seriously cuts down on writing time. Sourcing content is also always an option you can fall back on.

3. Optimisation

This last point should really be a given. After all, generally the reason you’re providing fresh content for your site is because you want to provide a broader canvas for your optimisation plan to work from. Posting fresh content to your pages on a daily basis will keep the search engine spiders coming around to your site, but if your content has no keywords or other on-page SEO, you’re missing part of the equation.

Sourcing your fresh content from your SEO company can ensure that content comes pre-optimised. This is the best situation, as there’s nothing more awkward than keywords that have been jammed in after the content has been written.
