So, what is it that you must not do when optimizing your website? After all, black hat SEO tactics will get your website blacklisted with the engines and that will be the end of it. You certainly do not want to risk that happening so make sure that none of the following can be found on your website.

Waiting for it to fall into your lap

If there is one thing that you should never, ever do, it’s waiting to implement search engine optimization on your website. The sooner you get started, the better. In actual fact, it is wise to start implementing SEO in the designing phase of your website. This will mean that you need to get your web designer and your SEO to work hand in hand on the creation of your new website.

This way, your website will be SEO compatible from the foundation up and it will start its life with the best optimization possible. It is also not advised to rush things when it comes to SEO either. Now, that might seem like a contradictory statement but here is how it works. Don’t wait to implement optimization, but do not rush the things that take time. All good things come to those who wait and that is exactly how it is with the results of your optimization efforts. You cannot expect overnight success.

The key problem

Keywords, if there is one problem that just about all websites have its keywords. Whether it is keyword stuffing or not targeting the correct keywords, they are a problem. It is important that you target keywords that are not generalised for your industry. That way, you are only going to attract window shoppers and traffic that is not serious about converting to sales. Not only that, the competition for those words is incredibly intense and you need to aim for a good rank in the SERPs, not number 999 on the list. Be careful not to stuff your precious keywords into every inch of your content. Use them in Meta tags, H1 tags, title tags, anchor text and more. Spread them out because overuse will get you into trouble with the engines.

Well, here it is pretty plain and simple. Do your homework on your prospective SEO company thoroughly. Make sure that you will be receiving only the best service from experienced professionals that carry a high reputation. Otherwise you could be letting your optimization in for a disastrous ride to failure. Choose a well-known and well-reputed company to handle the job effectively and in the correct manner.
