There are a number of web analytics which could be used to make sure that you have mounted a successful search engine optimization campaign and these range from the simple to the complex but they hold the key to success or failure. In some cases, it is important to look at the top referring keywords. These are the words which are used on queries on search engines and a look at these would to a greater extent give us directions as to where we are going.

It is thus possible to change the direction and tone of a SEO after a careful analysis of the queries made. You can also look at referring domains as this metric basically tells you who your biggest traffic drivers are. It is also important if you want to measure the effectiveness of a link building campaign. It is also possible to use the web analytics to remodel the products you have on offer.

Click paths as clue of how visitors navigate through your site

Click paths are an important web analytic as they give us pointers as to how people navigate through the site. This is very important feedback as it tells you how informative the site is and at the same time assist you when redesigning the site to make sure that the visitors would be able to locate what they want in the shortest possible time.

It is important to closely look at this metric because if you are seeing a lot of people having to go through a few clicks and all ending up on the same page, it would indicate that there is an opportunity to engage people more effectively by improving that click path.

Using visiting trends to see where you are going

As a web analytic, visiting trends is important in that it gives important statistics as to how many visitors you had in a given period. How would this compare to the previous period and these statistics would be a pointer to the success or failure of a SEO you would have mounted. This is also a sign if the SEO campaign you have adopted has a high return on investment or not. You could also use the statistics to see who visited the site and what they did. This will assist in your homework on what to include on the website.

Web analytics only the first step

After collecting the information, it is then important to make sure that the site is ranked top. Studies have shown that up to 39 percent of search engine users believe that company websites that appear in top search results are the leaders in their field.

Thus it is important that you use the web anaylytics to turn your site into a dominant force. Whenever someone searches for the products you offer, they would rank you as a leader in the industry and they would always want to buy from you thus increasing business for your organization.
