SEO or Search Engine Optimization is about attracting traffic to your site. Perhaps the best understood methods to do this are either Organic SEO or Pay per Click (PPC).
The Pros and Cons of Organic Search Engine Optimization
It is supposed that most people search organically rather than on PPC adverts. Search engines are today very smart and continue to get more so with each season. However this does present a little downside to organic SEO because keywords need to found. If your website is not created with the right keywords to attract searches, chances are your rankings will suffer. In this regards PPC does have a slight advantage because you have more leeway with keywords as you are paying for it.
Organic Search Engine Optimization has a greater advantage in regard to trust. Because search engines are efficient and trusted this means more and more people will use organic search results. If you make a living as an internet marketer this good news as you have more potential to convert traffic into sales.
Immediate results or not?
PPC does have a place though just as all advertising does. You get immediate results, but you have to deliver the goods. People are getting more and more selective about advertising and can see through all the old psychologies from yester year.
Organic SEO is hard for newcomers to make money from initially. It can takes years sometimes, yet once you start seeing results you can make very good revenues. PPC may help you get results immediately but you may end up paying a lot of money for the right keywords. At the end of the day this may affect your budget adversely. With all the major players to compete against you may not be able to attract the traffic you want, or if you threaten their marketing campaigns you may have to face consequences.
Time and budgetary considerations
PPC can get your site noticed immediately which it may take a considerable amount of time to get the same results with organic search engine optimization. However by using long tailed keywords in your organic campaign you can get the same results as you would with PPC.
If your PPC budget runs dry and you have teamed your marketing campaign with organic search engine optimization techniques, your website will never be found, ever. Organic SEO with PPC is the smarter choice.
Organic search engine optimization takes longer than PPC yet it can have long-lasting benefits. It won’t happen overnight though. If you want instant results you will need to put together a well planned PPC campaign, plus you don’t need to contract a professional to do it for you.
You might consider both methods beneficial but if conversions and long terms profits are what you are after you may need to consider organic SEO with PPC thrown in for good measure. Both methods are good yet even with PPC there are no guarantees that you will get overnight financial gains.
