Much has been said debated and written about the whole process of SEO and some have even gone so far as to divide it into two camps: namely white hate and black hat. Essentially what these terms refer to is the approach that certain companies will take to get ranked on search engines pages. Some say there is a right way and a wrong way and organic SEO basically is an in-depth look at both of these methods.
Some believe that SEO should have the traits of organic matter in that the growth of a website should be a natural process. This is where white hat and black hat come into play. By adhering to the terms and conditions of the major search engines and adding valuable content to a website, the website is almost guarantee to grow steadily over time.
The other players who look for technical loopholes or kinks in the machine as they say experience very short lived success. Search engines are always spending huge amounts of money to conduct tests on how they can improve their services and eventually these black hat practitioners are caught out and their websites are banned.
Why should anyone care?
The truth of the matter is that when it comes to page rankings the search engine giants do call the shots. Failure to observe this with renegade behaviour basically shows the immaturity of the individual or business. If a person were to transgress the laws of the traffic department, they certainly would have to answer for those actions in either a hefty fine or jail time depending on the transgression.
The same applies within the realm of the internet. There are certain regulations that govern how business may be run and there are businesses that comply and there are businesses that do not. One thing is for certain, the search engines always find newer and better ways of doing business that eventually close up the loopholes that were previously being used by black hatters.
The tried and tested remains true that people buy products from people they trust. Trust takes time to be built and yet in an instant it can be broken and those customers will not return to buy anything further from that business. The same is true for the world of SEO. Organic SEO may take a longer time to yield results but rest assured that once those result are in place, they grow from strength to strength.
The joy of watching your business grow
Much can be said about the people who are into black hat SEO to make a quick sale and a quick buck. On the other side of the coin however there stands the people who have had the sheer joy of watching their businesses grow and grow over the years almost like one would watch a child grow and develop.
The benefits of this type of SEO is that as the website grows in popularity and in rank it basically cements itself at the top of rankings because the content is great and is line with the terms of the search engines requirements.
