It is of great importance that businesses are able to attract potential customers to their website consistently and this is why search engine optimisation is so important. Ensuring that your website is structured appropriately with relevant and interesting content and that it is easy to navigate around your website is important if your website is going to appeal the web crawlers but also if you want your website to appeal and to be useful to visitors to the site too.

Whilst it is necessary to keep the search engines in mind when developing a website, it must always be made primarily for the target audience of your business. The aim of a business is to turn visitors into customers and there are some ways to ensure that your website is encouraging this to happen.

It is important to keep in mind that a visitor to your website can begin their exploration on any of your web pages, not necessarily on your homepage. This is because the search engines will direct users to web pages of relevance and this could be any of your pages depending on the query. Therefore, every page must inform users about the website and give them the opportunity to learn about what your website has to offer, the opportunity to visit your other web pages and of course the opportunity to purchase your product or service. Including internal links such as this through a menu or other relevant links section can be useful in helping visitors find their way around your website with hopefully the end of their exploration resulting in a conversion.

It is important when creating your website and establishing internal links that different wants and needs of visitors are taken into consideration. Different users will want to explore varying pages of your website before they are willing to purchase something from you and this needs to be considered. Make sure that your website has web pages featuring commonly popular information such as a background history of the business, a testimonials page, a FAQs page and obviously a page about the products or services you offer. Ensure that these pages are easily accessible and that the content within them is clear and this will help with your conversion rate.

Once you believe you are happy with your website, it can be beneficial to ask new users to try the site for the first time and get their feedback.

Ensuring that your website is structured and has been created efficiently and with visitors to the website in mind can be extremely beneficial from an SEO point of view. Making sure that your website is informative and easy to navigate and explore can help turn a visitor to your website into a customer.

At SEO Consult, we can advise you on a number of different SEO techniques that can encourage the search engines to rank your website highly in the search results and we can also help you to optimise these web pages that the search engines will rank not only for the search engines but also for your visitors too so that they will be more likely to use your business.
