Pay Per Click opportunities from the major search engines are a popular way for advertisers to have their businesses featured on the first pages of search results when a relevant search query is placed. Many companies use this type of advertising as it allows them to pay for the top rankings instead of having to wait for other search engine optimisation techniques to help them be ranked highly in the organic search results. In order for these advertising campaigns to be successful, it is important that advertisers are able to access important and relevant information that can make a difference to how their campaigns are run.

Yahoo! has recently updated its system and is providing its pay per click advertisers with even more information than before. This is being viewed as a highly positive development because giving advertisers more knowledge about who is visiting their websites, where they have come from and how their budget for the campaign is being spent can help them gain a valuable insight in to how to run their campaign more effectively. If using an advertising campaign to try and increase the amount of traffic to a website and eventually the ranking of the website in the organic search results too, then specific data about the traffic to the website is necessary in order to ensure that money is spent in the right places and that the campaign is working in the best way possible. Basically, advertisers are looking to attract as much relevant traffic as possible for the smallest possible cost.

Yahoo! is now providing advertisers with information about the websites their traffic comes from. Adverts created feature on other websites when they are deemed relevant by the search engine. This new information in the reports will show advertisers which websites their adverts are being displayed on and the amount of traffic these websites are generating for the advertiser. This can be advantageous as it can show the websites that do not produce a great deal of traffic for the advertiser and can also show which websites are competing too heavily with the advertiser for the same potential customers. Websites like this can then be blocked by the advertiser and their adverts will no longer appear on these sites. Having this power over the websites on which adverts are displayed can be advantageous for a business.

Using a pay per click advertising campaign can be an important part of a search engine optimisation strategy because it allows a website to have an online presence at the top of the search results of the major search engines quickly and easily. This is likely to increase the amount of traffic to the site and the more hits a website receives can also affect the ranking it has in the organic search results too, so is positive in many ways. The advertising opportunities and data offered by search engines such as Yahoo! can be beneficial to help advertisers run their campaigns in the best way possible and achieve the best results. At SEO Consult we can help you with all the different SEO methods required for your business to improve its ranking and increase the amount of traffic to your website too.
